Recent Sosua Bay Hotel Review: "I have to say that my stay at Sosua Bay was one of the best experiences I have had at an all inclusive hotel. Not only was the resort clean (every time of the day there were maintenance workers cleaning the property), the rooms (beds)were incredibly comfortable, the food at all the restaurants was exceptional, and most importantly to me, the staff was amazing. Not one rude experience with any staff member. As a matter of fact, they all went the extra mile to make sure my fiancee and I had a great time. My recommendation is to stick to the buffet every night as opposed to making reservations at one of their restaurants, as the food at the buffet was incredible. The pools were great, the live band and shows every night were wonderfully entertaining, and the water activities (scuba, snorkeling, kayaking) kept my fiancee and I entertained throughout our weeklong stay. Never a dull moment in this hotel. I highly recommend it to anyone, friends, family, couples. Fantastic hotel!"

A short guide to Sosua

Sosua is a small town on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, about 10 minutes from the international airport. The town has a tourist area and a residential area that are separated by the main public beach. During World War II, Sosua welcomed a number of Jewish refugees from Germany and Austria. Today, the town has a small synagogue and is popular with European tourists and expatriates.

A two-level complex above Sosúa Bay features two irregularly shaped pools, measuring 18.25m (60-ft) and 13.75m (45-ft). Also located above the bay is a secluded 10-person spa tub. Adjacent their clubhouse, children have their own 6m (20-ft) pool and eight-person spa tub.

Sosúa Bay Beach extends 1 km (0.75 mi) west of the hotel, with the hotel's beach frontage on the eastern end measuring 20m (22 yds). Lounge chairs are available in this section. Sosua Bay Hotel supplies snorkeling gear, pedal boats, and kayaks. Water-sports equipment such as windsurfers and sailboats are available at a companion hotel in the windsurfing town of Cabarete 8 km (5 mi) away, to which there are complimentary shuttles mornings and afternoons.
